The first new episode will be titled The Lost and Damned and will feature Johnny Klebitz from Liberty City biker gang The Lost instead of Eastern European immigrant Niko Bellic, reports USA Today.
Dan Houser, vice president of creative development for Rockstar Games, said: "Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background.
"I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City."
He added that the episode will not be "directly impacted by decisions you took in the main game" but that "tons of details and mysteries" from the main story will be explained in the DLC.
The Lost and Damned will become available for download from Xbox Live from February 19, 2009. No price has yet been confirmed.
