Published Wednesday, Nov 26 2008, 13:22 GMT | By Matthew Reynolds

Originally named Halo 3: Recon, the stand-alone expansion was announced at Tokyo Game Show as a prequel to the 2007 blockbuster.
New title Halo 3: ODST comes from the soldiers within the game, the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.
On its blog, developer Bungie announced the reason behind the change: "This new title is a more straightforward account of the experience that awaits and the role you will assume as you explore the streets of New Mombasa."
The developer confirmed that the game, which will only be available at retail, supports multiplayer and will feature "one or two unrevealed surprises when it's released next Fall".
