'Skate 2' given January release
Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that its street-skateboarding sequel Skate 2 is to be given a January release in Europe and North America.

Skate 2 is the third instalment in the Black Box-developed series, which also includes the original Skate and spinoff Skate It for the Wii and DS. The upcoming sequel will arrive on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 21 in North America and January 23 in Europe.

Set in Vanelona, a San Francisco/Vancouver/Barcelona hybrid, the title offers non-linear gameplay where the player can perform a variety of tricks around the futuristic city. The game's control system has been given an overhaul, with an array of new moves added to this edition in the series.
