Nintendo's DSi remains at the summit of the Japanese hardware chart after the handheld system recovered from the previous week's slump.
According to figures from Media Create, Nintendo's latest portable effort sold 88,843 units, up from the previous week's 85,327.
The statistics puts the DSi some way ahead of its competitor, the PSP, which managed 61,226 units, although this is almost double what the Sony system managed the week before.
The DS lite sold 18,580 units, while Nintendo's Wii topped the home console chart, shifting over 35,298 units. The PlayStation 3 (17,436) managed more sales than the Xbox 360 (15,474), but Sony's home system suffered a decline while Microsoft's machine enjoyed significant gains.
The PlayStation 2's slump continued. The previous generation platform ended the week on 5281 units.
