Atari picks up 'Codename Panzers'

Atari

Atari has emerged as the publisher of Codename Panzers: Cold War after the game's previous distributor was declared bankrupt.

The latest entry in the long-running real-time strategy series was thought lost after German publisher 10tacle went under in the summer, taking developer Stormregion with it.

Offshoot development team InnoGlow took the reigns and completed the game, which Atari will release next February.

Codename Panzers: Cold War is the first title in the series not to take place during World War II. The game starts in an alternate 1949, in which the Cold War quickly heats up.
