360 enjoys huge sales boost

Microsoft has confirmed that European 360 sales in November were the highest in the Xbox's six year history.

According to figures released by GfK-ChartTrack, 360 sales were up by 124% on November 2007, with Wii sales up by 43% and PS3 sales up by 3%.

Chris Lewis, Microsoft's regional VP of Interactive Entertainment Business for EMEA, believes that the sales increase is due to the 360's cheaper price and exclusive titles.

"In the current economic conditions, consumers are more cautious than ever and looking for more value for their entertainment spend. Xbox 360 delivers that value – we’re now the best-value next-gen console on the market."

Despite these claims, SCEE president David Reeves told MCV that the PS3 was in fact beating the 360 in PAL territories: "I am confident that in PAL territories our installed base is 300,000 units ahead of Xbox 360."
