World At War has been given odds of 1/3, with FIFA 09 second favourite at 6/1, followed by Mario Kart Wii at 7/1 and Fallout 3 at 10/1.
ELSPA MD Michael Rawlinson said 2008 has seen an increase in the popularity of family games and suggested that predicting the Christmas number one is an impossible task.
"We are currently experiencing a boom time for inventiveness and creativity within the industry and the variety of games for different age groups, families and hardcore gamers is vast," he added.
Call Of Duty is currently number one in the all-format, PS3 and 360 charts.
