Microsoft in talks over 'Crackdown 2'
Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds is in "ongoing discussion" with Microsoft about the possibility of a sequel to last year's hit.

Studio head Colin MacDonald confirmed that although Microsoft is yet to make a formal offer, talks are being held about a follow-up to the Xbox 360 exclusive.

"I just wanted to correct the rumours today surrounding Crackdown," MacDonald told VG247. "Although to date we haven't had an offer from Microsoft for the Crackdown sequel rumoured, we continue to have ongoing discussions with them."

MacDonald's statement contradicts earlier reports that Scottish developer Ruffian Games - led by ex-Realtime Worlds employees - is already working on the sequel.
