Economic downturn threatens CCP

The collapse of Iceland's banking system could drive EVE Online developer Crowd Control Productions (CCP) out of the country, reports The Guardian.
EVE Online is a popular science fiction-themed massively multiplayer online game. With over 300,000 subscribers, it is the Icelandic developer's most successful title.
"To make new games, we need foreign investors," said Eyjolfur Gudmundsson, supervisor for the game's virtual economy.
"The present currency restrictions are putting us in a straitjacket. We are in talks with the government, but if we can't let capital in, we might be compelled to leave Iceland, even though this would be against our wishes."
CCP also has offices in the US and China.
