TV execs feel threatened by 'Wii Video'
A number of Japanese television executives have expressed concern about the launch of Nintendo's upcoming Wii video channel.

According to The Times, a senior executive from Japan's biggest commercial broadcaster, Fuji Television, described the channel as "the stuff of television producers' nightmares".

With over 40 million Wii consoles having been sold worldwide, another executive commented that the Wii is the "centre-piece of the living room".

The Wii channel will feature exclusive content such as cartoons, quizzes, cookery programmes and other lifestyle and educational shows.

It is due to launch in Japan during the spring, with a worldwide release expected to follow later in the year.
