Capcom producer expresses Western concerns
Published Monday, Jan 5 2009, 14:06 GMT | By Liam Martin

Describing Japan as the last big marketplace, Takeuchi told Famitsu: "I'm worried about the movements of Western developers. Japan is now their target - it's the last big marketplace."
Takeuchi admitted that Western game studios have been making high quality titles and would continue to do so, but urged Japanese developers to retain their own style.
"It's not good if Japanese developers are making games that can't be enjoyed by Japanese people."
"I hope that 2009 is a year where developers - not just Capcom, but other makers too - can have big hits that improve the Japanese games industry as a whole," he added.
Resident Evil 5 is due to be released in March, with Takeuchi suggesting that Capcom will reveal its 2009 plans after its launch.
