Epic reveals 'Gears 2' update
Published Wednesday, Jan 7 2009, 02:50 GMT | By Andrew Laughlin

Studio vice president Mark Rein announced on the Gears Forum that they are currently working on the update, which should go live "within January".
Rein said that the patch "will address bugs and exploits, as well as add some new achievements related to downloadable content".
This will include enabling characters to wield invisible shields, melee through certain walls, attain infinite Lancer ammo and simultaneously equip a shield and two-handed weapon.
There will also be "several small changes" to overall online gameplay, including increased penalties for anyone quitting matches early and additional spawn protection against planted grenades and chainsaw attacks.
Rein added that the update will increase the frequency of in-game Achievement notifications and improve the reliability of the shotgun.
