PS2 reaches 50 million mark in US

Sony announced that the last generation console broke the sales mark over the Christmas period.
SCEA hardware marketing head John Kollar said that interest from low-income consumers and non-gaming families have made sales continuously strong, Kotaku reports.
He added that work on the console will continue, saying: "We don't intend on discarding the system any time soon."
The PlayStation 2 was released in 2000.
