As well as various tutorials, the demo will feature the first two single player campaigns and a multiplayer map.
In addition to the demo, Microsoft unveiled a new Halo Wars documentary series, which will feature behind-the-scenes footage of the game's development as well as gameplay features and tutorials.
The first part of the documentary launched yesterday and can be downloaded from Xbox Live or viewed online.
Microsoft went on to confirm that Halo Wars has entered the manufacturing stages of development and will be released for the 360 on February 27.
