Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick revealed that the project is in the works when interviewed by CNBC during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"We have this product called DJ Hero coming out later this year, which is a turntable that you actually can play competitively and spin discs and mix songs," he said.
Kotick confirmed the title's existence after being quizzed on whether or not the video game industry could continue to innovate.
Rumours of DJ Hero emerged last year after Dutch trance DJ Tiesto claimed that he was working on an exclusive version of the game.
