It was originally thought that the first-person shooter would arrive alongside recent film release Punisher: War Zone, but a tie-in with the DVD launch on March 17 could still be a possibility.
The title was designed using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3, the same technology behind Gears Of War and Hours Of Victory. A host of villains from the original comics, including Jigsaw, Silver Sable, Bushwhacker and Barracuda, will appear in the game.
Although the Budapest-based ZEN Studios has no prior experience with first-person shooters. it has handled licensed games before, such as its Rocky & Bullwinkle title for Xbox 360.
