DS approaching nine million sales
Published Sunday, Feb 8 2009, 20:20 GMT | By Mark Langshaw

Nintendo’s dual screen system has now sold 8.8 million units in the territory, with the figure expected to rapidly increase when the DSi arrives later this year.
"That’s a hell of a lot of DS handhelds already in the market, and there are quite a few publishers successfully exploiting those numbers, especially Ubisoft," ChartTrack director Dorian Bloch told MCV. “We predict that the DSi launch will stimulate more growth.”
The news follows Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s recent prediction of a total installed base figure of 152.2 million units for the DS.
