Company CEO Mike Griffith made the announcement at last week's Activision Blizzard conference call, where he detailed the release of Guitar Hero: Metallica in Q1 2009, with a new Nintendo DS game and the greatest hits following in Q2.
He said that the greatest hits pack will include "full-band versions of some of the most popular songs from previous Guitar Hero games and will be made available for the 360, PS3 and Wii".
Guitar Hero: Metallica is released in Europe on May 5, with the other games expected to follow around June.
