The new instalment to the long-running tennis franchise was original announced earlier this month, with platforms listed as PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
In a recent press release, however, Sega revealed that a Wii edition would also share a May release window with the other versions of the game.
“The Virtua Tennis series is perfect for the Wii platform,” said Sean Ratcliffe, vice president of marketing for Sega of America. “Sega is excited to be able to bring this uniquely interactive experience to Wii. The multiplayer Court Games in particular will be a feature that family and friends can enjoy together.”
Like the other versions, the Wii edition will feature an up-to-date player roster, 40 realistic court environments, online play and several casual minigames.
