A demo version of Sega and The Creative Assembly's Empire: Total War is available to download via Steam.
The sampler allows players to try the game's tutorial on land and naval warfare, and take part in two historic battles.
The first scenario is the Battle of Brandywine Creek, in which Major-General Sir William Howe's British forces must attempt to capture Philadelphia from under the nose of American General George Washington.
The second campaign is the Battle of Lagos, where the player must take control of the British forces to fend off a French invasion.
The full game will be available from Steam on March 4.
