Xbox 360 tops Japanese hardware chart

According to figures from Media Create, the Xbox 360 led the way with 25,334 units, with the Wii in second at 16,973 units and PS3 just behind it at 16,149 units. The PlayStation 2 saw sales fall to 5029 units.
Microsoft's system received a sales boost from the release of Square Enix's Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope, which topped the software charts in the territory, pushing Mario & Luigi RPG 3 for the DS into second place.
Current European chart-topper Street Fighter IV dropped from second to ninth.
