Beatles 'Rock Band' gets release date

Apple Corps, Harmonix and MTV Games have announced a September 9 release for The Beatles: Rock Band which will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.
While gamers will be able to use existing Rock Band peripherals, makers have also created new instruments based on those played by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Producers said: "[Users can] experience The Beatles' extraordinary catalogue of music through gameplay that takes players on a journey through the legacy and evolution of the band's legendary career."
Giles Martin, co-producer of Love with his father George, is the music producer for the game, which will be available in game-only, standalone guitar and limited edition premium versions.
The game will be the first time any of the band's music has been available digitally.
