iPhone games pass 6,000 mark

Games occupy the biggest share of the iPhone's App Store, with more than 6,000 titles now available to download, according to Mobclix.

The exact number of games on the iPhone currently stands at 6276, which is almost double the amount of content the second largest application has to offer.

With almost a 20% share, puzzle titles make up the majority of the games available, while free to download titles represent a quarter of all games.

Despite the App Store's growth as a gaming outlet, Nintendo's Satoru Iwata told Forbes that the iPhone was too different to the DS to be considered a threat.
