The sequel has long been listed under its extended title, but a recent Game Informer preview made no reference to it.
“You won’t be seeing Sea Of Dreams moving forward, just BioShock 2,” a 2K representative told Primotech.
A recent update on the game's official 'Cult Of Rapture' website dispelled a few myths about the sequel's content.
"I will let you know that there won’t be any spliced-up rhinos, Soviet invasions, or co-op, but you may very well see a Big Daddy or two," explained 2K. "The game will feature quite a bit else, however."
BioShock 2 is slated for release before November this year, with platforms yet to be announced.
