The game, originally released in 1991, has received multiple ports over the years, including a Nintendo DS conversion in 2007.
Its storyline casts the player as The Stranger, stranded on a mysterious, uncharted island. The object is to find your way back to civilization, solving a host of challenging puzzles along the way. Early screenshots appear to show a graphically superior offering to the DS port.
Myst was hailed in the early '90s for its groundbreaking graphics and use of CD-ROM technology. It held the title of bestselling PC game of all time until The Sims eclipsed it in 2002.
