Speaking to Kotaku, lead designer Jeffrey Kaplan said 8,570,222,426 quests have been waged since July 2007.
Kaplan explained that this constitutes an average of 16 million quests every day being played around the world.
Following the launch of the Burning Crusade and Wrath Of The Lich King expansion packs, World Of Warcraft also now offers 7,650 available quests.
However, Swedish charity Youth Care Foundation recently claimed the MMORPG is equivalent to the "crack cocaine of the computer world", reports The Daily Telegraph.
