Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata made the claims at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan, saying that the sales were evenly distributed across the regions.
According to Edge Online, UK sales were said to have contributed 92,000 units to the figure, with GfK-ChartTrack previously stating that the DSi was the UK's fourth fastest-selling console.
The DSi was released last Friday at a cost of £149.99.
