According to That VideoGame Blog, Activision is seeking to acquire licenses for tunes from the era of the Vietnam War (1959-1975), as well as traditional Cuban, Russian and African music.
Nothing has been confirmed about the seventh game in the COD series, but World At War senior producer Noah Heller is said to be on board, indicating it to be a Treyarch-developed project.
The publisher has refused any comment at this stage. "Activision doesn’t comment on rumour and speculation," read a company statement.
The sixth instalment in the Call Of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2, is currently being developed by Infinity Ward, and is due for release on November 10.
