Last November, the company launched five specialist Wireless World stores offering games and consoles, as well as iPods, televisions and laptops.
According to MCV, the chain now plans to expand the initiative with up to 40 new dedicated stores opening in the UK over the next financial year.
A Carphone Warehouse spokesperson pointed out that the firm has been offering consoles with certain mobile phone deals for "some time".
"There will be about 30 to 40 of these new Wireless World stores coming over the next financial year - a mixture of brand new sites and refits on existing stores," the spokesperson explained.
"As our store concepts evolve we will broaden the range of our products, which will include game consoles and game software."
The company's gaming profile will also be further buoyed by the arrival of 30 Best Buy stores in the UK by 2010.
This follows the US retailer acquiring a 50% stake in the Carphone Warehouse in a £1 billion deal agreed last year.
