PS phone rumours re-emerge
Published Monday, May 11 2009, 03:42 BST | By Mark Langshaw

Sony appeared to have quashed rumours of releasing an iPhone competitor with the Ericsson branding after announcing that its next handheld iteration will be the PSP Go!, but Komiyama's comments in the Financial Times appear to have resurrected them.
When quizzed on the possibility of a PlayStation-branded phone, the Sony Ericsson head responded by saying that it "could happen."
Komiyama went on to say that: "If we do not adapt to this new technology or new market environment, we're going to lose."
In the past, Sony has suggested that a PlayStation-branded phone could go ahead without the involvement of Ericsson, but Komiyama's comments suggest otherwise.
An update on Sony's relationship with the Swedish mobile phone manufacturer is expected at E3 next month.
