Details on next-gen iPhone leaked?

Details on a next-generation successor to the iPhone have been leaked, according to a source close to Apple’s hardware team.

The source informed the Apple iPhone Apps blog that the device will launch on July 17 and outlined its specifications.

Consistent with past rumours, the system will allegedly include a digital compass and video recorder.

A built-in FM transmitter and an OLED screen to improve battery life will also be incorporated, while the RAM and processing power are double that of the current iPhone. The system’s digital camera will be significantly more powerful than its predecessor's, and users will also be able to send photographs and video material via text message.

Apple has previously confirmed that an additional software update will be available for current-generation iPhones this summer, but is yet to offer an official comment on the device's successor.
