The New York based company, which was set up by Rockstar luminaries Jamie King and Gary Foreman, is currently working on two new games, one of which is expected to launch by the end of the year.
4mm said that it will avoid making massively multiplayer titles and instead focus on casual games aimed at "under-served" audiences such as females.
Executive VP Paul Coyne told Variety: "There are lots of people who don't want to play men-in-tights games. There's a huge audience already online who want to play games relevant to them."
The two titles are expected to be released online or on mobile devices before making the leap to consoles.
