Metroid: Other M will combine first and third-person perspectives in a faster paced, more story-driven game.
Developed by Ninja Gaiden's Team Ninja, it will also go deeper into the backstory of Samus and the Metroid universe.
Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aime said that the title is a "new, edgier game from us" and that working with the studio was a "historic collaboration".
The game, set for release in 2010, was shown at yesterday’s Nintendo conference from E3 2009.
