Priced at £157, the release of the black Wii will be matched with similar coloured versions of the Wii Remote, Nunchuck and classic controller.
The new dark unit will become available to Japanese gamers from August 1, although there have been no indications as yet whether a European or North American release is also planned.
New red, blue and yellow editions have also been unveiled for the recently launched DSi handheld, with the product to cost around £118 and become available in Japan from July 7.
