Fans oppose Valve's 'Left 4 Dead 2'

The company revealed during the E3 Expo that it is working on Left 4 Dead 2, despite the first game only being released in November 2008.
Currently over 20,000 people have signed up to the L4D2 protest group, which was formed on the Steam Community website on June 1.
While recognising that Valve has to meet financial targets, the group claims that the sequel's release "will split the communities and decrease the quality of multiplayer gaming".
The protesters believe that the content announced so far does "not warrant a standalone, full-priced sequel" and should instead be used as updates for the original game.
"The release of Left 4 Dead 2 will make Left 4 Dead an obsolete purchase and inferior piece of software after only one-year since release," the group added.
A request has been issued for Valve to "honour its commitment to release ongoing periodic content for Left 4 Dead" and also shelve plans to release the follow-up as a standalone product.
If these demands are not met, the demonstrators claim that they will boycott the game's November 19 release.
According to reports, Valve decided to develop the update in order to host new gameplay innovations that could not be supported by the existing system.
