The 25-year-old Spaniard now joins Barcelona playmaker Lionel Messi in fronting the game, which will be released for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP, PS2 and mobile devices this autumn.
"Everyone knows that when it comes to football simulation, Konami's PES series is by far the most realistic title available," said Torres.
"The new game looks absolutely stunning, and I look forward to seeing myself in action in PES 2010."
Jon Champion and Mark Lawrenson will return for commentating duties in the title, while Konami has worked to emphasise triangulation of passes and off-the-ball runs to create more precise, realistic play.
Gamers can also compete in a new Master League incorporating both Champions League and Europa League (formally the Uefa Cup), which includes all players from featured teams being available for transfer.
Last year, it was reported that console addict Torres had spent £35,000 on three dedicated gaming rooms at his mansion in Liverpool.
