A new entity, tentatively named Square Enix Europe, will combine the publishing offices of Eidos and Square Enix, according to GamesIndusty.biz.
Headed by Eidos CEO Phil Roger, the move will combine sales and marketing offices, which will lead to job losses.
"Unfortunately we are expecting some jobs to be impacted directly by this in both Europe and North America," said Square Enix in a statement. "We are hoping to minimise this wherever possible and offer support and advice to any employees directly affected."
While the Eidos publishing name will disappear, the brand will continue to exist in development studios around the world.
Earlier this year, Japanese publisher Square Enix bought out British publisher Eidos in deal said to be worth £84 million.
