Midway's MK II
The media giant now owns the studio, along with its Mortal Kombat, This Is Vegas and other Midway trademarks, leaving the brand's future uncertain.
"Midway Games Inc. still exists, and the Midway trademark and games such as Mortal Kombat and This Is Vegas and most of the IP library are now owned by Warner Bros," a Midway spokesperson told Kotaku.
"It will be up to Warner Bros to determine how they will approach their branding strategy."
The Midway brand has existed since 1958, when the company began life as Midway Mfg. Co, operating as an independent manufacturer of amusement equipment.
