EA establishes new iPhone studio
EA has established a brand new development studio called 8lb Gorilla which will create games solely for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch.

The division's remit will be to develop unique and affordable titles to complement EA's more high-end offerings on the gaming devices.

Historically, the publisher has transported franchises such as The Sims and Tiger Woods PGA Tour to the handhelds, with each game priced at around £3.

8lb Gorilla will create a variety of new IP to compete with App Store games priced around the 99p bracket.

According to TouchArcade, the team of predominantly young developers will work remotely from the main business, while their first project will be an action/strategy game entitled Zombies & Me.
