'Resident Evil 4' heading for iPhone
A handheld port of survival horror sequel Resident Evil 4 will be released for the iPhone, Capcom has revealed.

The game unexpectedly appeared on the Japanese App Store last weekend, but was quickly pulled. The publisher explained that the title was uploaded ahead of schedule in error, but confirmed that it would receive a worldwide release.

Based on leaked video footage, the port appears to have been designed using the same engine as iPhone-exclusive Resident Evil: Degeneration, which was released earlier this year.

The third-person shooter will arrive in Japan at the end of July, with a global release expected to follow soon after.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the most critically acclaimed games in the franchise and often cited as a fan favourite. It was originally released in 2004 for GameCube, PlayStation 2 and PC.
