'Wolfenstein' delayed by two weeks
id Software's first-person shooter Wolfenstein has been delayed by two weeks, publisher Activision has announced.

According to the firm, the first new entry in the Nazi saga for six years has been postponed to enable a simultaneous global release.

"In order to facilitate a simultaneous global release window for id Software's Wolfenstein, Activision has realigned the game's release date for the week beginning August 17," an Activision representative told GameSpot.

A direct sequel to 2001's Return To Castle Wolfenstein, the game casts the player as US soldier B.J. Blazkowicz, who is once again sent into enemy territory to thwart Hitler's occult ambitions.

Developed by Raven Software, the game will be released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 18.
