The Assassin's Creed studio has unveiled UbiFriends, an online portal for the distribution of games and applications via the Facebook platform.
"We've been a leader in the art of making games for many years, and we're happy to bring the Ubisoft experience to the Facebook platform," said Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America.
The first game to premier on the service will be Tick Tock, a timed trivia game featuring bombs, explosions and content generated from users' Facebook status updates.
"Our first application, TickTock, is about leveraging user generated content to interact with your friends, and it's the first of many applications that we're building for our UbiFriends portal."
Ubisoft did not confirm what kind of games would be distributed via the service in the future, but did reveal that spinoff versions of their popular IPs are a possibility.
