Sony planning 'inFamous' movie
Sony Pictures is planning a movie adaptation of Sucker Punch's superhero video game inFamous.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Sheldon Turner has picked up a seven-figure fee to pen the script, with Marvel Studios co-founder Avi Arad on hand to produce the film.

"What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I've come across that had a big idea and a character arc," Turner said. "It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is."

The title, released earlier this year as a PS3-exclusive, tells the story of a bike messenger who is granted superhuman powers after being caught in a cataclysmic blast. Players are given the choice between hero and villain over the course of the game.

inFamous sold over 175,000 copies in its opening week and a total of 192,700 by the end of its first month, making it the tenth highest selling game in June.
