50 Cent will provide voiceover work to the forthcoming war sim Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, developer Infinity Ward has confirmed.

According to studio exec Robert Bowling, the rap star has recorded dialogue for one of the squad members in "multiplayer/special ops mode".

A publicity shot of the singer playing the game alongside members of the punk band Good Charlotte recently appeared on his official website. Infinity Ward has also published photographs of fellow rapper Ice-T playing the game, as well as American comedian Dane Cook.

50 Cent has previously appeared in his own video games, Bulletproof and its sequel Blood On The Sand. Both titles are third-person shooters published by Sierra and THQ respectively.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in November, priced at £54.99.
