Nintendo to revamp DSiWare

According to the website, the gaming giant is making changes to the online store to provide better support for independent developers.
The storefront's pricing structure of 200, 500 and 900 Nintendo Points is to remain in place, but the platform holder will charge developers different royalties depending on the size of their games. Under the new system, a game that costs 500 points will have to be smaller than 20MB.
Critics of this system have voiced concerns that it will lead to developers heavily compressing their titles to avoid exceeding the limit, which could be detrimental to graphics and sound.
It is thought that the new initiative has been announced in response to Sony's recent Minis programme, which lowered the barriers for indie developers on the PSP and PSPGo.
