'Def Jam: Rapstar' to scout real talents
Published Monday, Aug 24 2009, 19:04 BST | By Andrew Laughlin

By using a microphone and camera, players record videos of their rap performances, before polishing them off in the title's editing suite, including the application of backing vocals and ad libing.
These videos can then be shared with users on the game's online community, which will be regularly monitored by real talent scouts from Def Jam records.
Recording length will be kept to a limit of 30 seconds for licensed songs - including 'Gold Digger' by Kanye West and 'They Reminisce Over You' by Pete Rock & CL Smooth - but unlimited for original tracks.
Def Jam: Rapstar will be released for PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 this winter, which is likely to mean the first quarter of 2010.
