According to 1UP, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada confirmed the news today during an event held at the National Museum of Science and Innovation in Odaiba, Tokyo Bay.
After talking about the long process involved with developing the game, Wada revealed that FFXIII will be priced at 8,800 yen (£58) when it is released as a PS3 exclusive.
The publisher also intends to release the game in Europe and North America within the next six to eight months, where it will be available on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
During the conference, Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai also announced that a PS3 FFXIII console bundle is planned, but gave no further details on this.
As the first Final Fantasy game on this current generation of consoles, FFXIII also marks a return to turn-based combat in the series.
