According to a list compiled for the publication by AT Kearney, the Japanese console brand excelled for its commitment to innovation, despite having a lower turnover than other firms.
Telecoms and technology companies featured heavily on the list, with search engine giant Google placing second and Apple coming in third.
In a statement, Business Week said that the table highlights companies that are demonstrating a "commitment to innovation, diversified portfolios, aggressive expansion, strong leadership and a clear vision for the future".
It continued: "Two groups stand out: technology and telecommunications companies that have tapped into continuing demand for mobile phone service and new digital hardware and services, and heavy industry and engineering outfits benefiting from the uptick in infrastructure spending."
