'BASS' designer: 'Apple approached us'

He said that he was "flattered" after receiving the request to bring his work to the mobile platform.
"We were actually approached by Apple, who basically said they felt the platform needed some good adventures," he told DS. "And of course, I was really flattered by that."
Cecil also stated that digital distribution and a lack of publisher took pressure off the team.
"We're generally self-funded and we're not under commercial pressures, we're not under time scales, it's just vital to get it right," he explained.
"I hope I've not gone out of my way to knock retailers or publishers or whatever, but there's an incredible liberation. For example, this game is a month later than it should have been. Who noticed? Nobody, because we didn't talk about it until the time it would have been available."
Beneath A Steel Sky: Remastered is now available on iPhone.
