The Metal Gear Solid writer and producer said that revisiting the series is "on top of the list" for his studio.
"Our team loves the game," he told PlayStation Blog. "Of course, there are a lot of things Kojima Productions wants to bring out, and Zone of the Enders is at the top of the list.
"It's not going to be out too soon, but we really considering about it."
However, Kojima revealed that he wants to work on an original title next, saying: "I always want to do my next original title, and that's always on my mind.
"And as I said before, I could kind of produce some other titles such as Zone of the Enders, and I would like to plan that: doing the producer side and also creating my own original new title."
The original Zone Of The Enders was released in 2001 on the PS2 and received a Game Boy Advance and PS2 sequel several years later.
